Basic Information On Second Language Selection
Second language is a discipline which a child needs to study from Grade 1 to Grade 10. In the CBSE curriculum, the process of learning any language up to Grade 4 will be smooth as we teach only the basic aspects till that stage. However, from Grade 5 onwards learning of the language become a serious activity as the grammar and literature part of the language creep into the curriculum. In that situation, students may find some difficulties to move ahead. At this stage (in grade 5), changing second language is not a wise decision.

How can we avoid this situation?
1) While choosing the Second Language (SL) in grade 1, you may do it after a proper thought process.
2) Observe the child’s learning progress in grades 1, 2 and also in grade 3.
3) If the child shows difficulty in catching up things, then immediately contact the school and request for change of SL.
4) Help the child to learn the changed second language from grade 4.
5) If you need any further information try to contact the school and get guidance.
